In 1920, Hjalmar Blomkvist took the first step in creating the history of DUKA. His shop selling glassware, porcelain and kitchenware in the Swedish city of Linköping was a success. He began opening more stores in other Swedish cities. When it was time to retire, he sold his thriving business. 

In 1962, Hjalmar Blomkvist's former company merged with 16 other glass and porcelain shops to form the DUKA chain. A hundred years have passed, and we still offer products designed back then. Today, DUKA is a prestigious brand with an excellent range of products and professional service, opening new stores across Europe every year. It has been present on the Polish market since 1999 and currently has over 61 brick-and-mortar stores and an online store at duka.com. ‘DUKA’ means ‘to set the table’ in Swedish.
